Paul Echeverria is a filmmaker, digital artist, and educator. His production work aims to dilute the boundaries between fiction, documentary, and experimental forms. His debut feature, …sol y lluvia, won Best Foreign Language Film at the Long Island Film Festival. In addition to filmmaking, Echeverria is a digital artist who works in the areas of e-literature, social media, creative coding, and data manipulation. His films and digital works have been exhibited at multiple venues, including Anthology Film Archives, the Bronx Museum of the Arts, the Echo Park Film Center, and the Hartford International Film Festival.
Echeverria is an Assistant Professor of Communication & Media Arts at Western Connecticut State University. He is also the founding director and faculty member of the Digital and Interactive Media Arts (DIMA) program. In addition, Echeverria serves as a board member for the non-profit organization the Millennium Film Workshop. For over 50 years, Millennium has provided low cost resources for independent, experimental, and non-commercial filmmakers.
